What is the Job Shop service?
The Job Shop is an employment service for Hull City Council and the NHS and works in a similar way to that of a 'Job Centre'. The Job Shop provides information on current vacancies and employer contact information. It is then up to you to make contact with the employer but of course the Job Shop is on hand to offer you any help with CV’s and completing application forms.
The Job Shop can be found on the ground floor of the BBC Building in Hull City Centre, located close to Queen’s gardens.

Details of the current vacancies are available, once you have registered on this website and at the Job Shop. You will need to check the web site regularly for details of current vacancies, check emails and or visit the Job Shop. We can also send you a text message if we receive a job that meets your needs. You can get the employer details for any of the jobs by popping into the Job Shop.
You will need to register with the Job Shop, this is simple and has the advantage that we can contact you if the type of job you require comes up! All you have to do is click here and complete the online registration form or download a copy and return the registration form to the job shop. Alternatively you can come in and see us at the job shop within the BBC building to register.
There is no charge to register with this service.
HullJobShop registers approximately 120 clients per week and couldn’t possibly make an appointment for every client, clients are encouraged to use the website to search for suitable vacancies, once you have found one select the express interest button and an advisor will be in touch to make an appointment and discuss the vacancy.
HullJobshop will also scan vacancies as they are uploaded and if we find one you may be interested in we will send you a text message (only if you have selected to receive SMS on your personal details) Providing you ring us back on our freefone number 0800 002 9850 we will also make an appointment to discuss the vacancy in more detail.

No, the job shop have a number of advisors that will assist and advice you with your applications, we can ensure that all essential criteria has been met prior to submission, we can provide advice on accuracy, layout and appropriateness to the vacancy you are applying for.
No, the Job shop provides the facility to save all application forms for a period of 13 months. We do however recommend that each application is appropriate to the vacancy you are applying for and changes will be necessary.
